There are many techniques Anita can use to help you achieve the results you want. Click on the tabs below to learn more.
The following massage techniques may be used:
Swedish massage uses long flowing strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, and vibration with oil or lotion to promote circulation, relaxation, and a sense of well-being. This style of massage is light -medium pressure with light muscle work.
Deep Tissue massage focuses deeply into the muscle and connective tissue to break down scar tissue and knots. Anita deepens the pressure gradually to effectively achieve a release of the muscles. Deep tissue massage is helpful for chronic muscle tension, old injuries, and athletic performance.
Myofascial Release uses subtle pressure and stretching on the skin and connective tissue to unwind and release restrictions that affect posture and limit movement. Myofascial release is helpful for restrictions that cause pain such as surgical scars or trauma from an old injury.
Trigger Point: A trigger point is simply a small contraction knot in muscle tissue. It often feels like a partly cooked piece of macaroni or like a pea buried deep in the muscle. A trigger point affects a muscle by keeping it both tight and weak and can refer pain away from the original site. By applying concentrated finger pressure to trigger points the cycles of spasm and pain can be alleviated. It usually takes several sessions to completely deactivate a trigger point. This is deep work and the client may have soreness afterward.
Chair massage is very convenient, affordable and can be performed anyplace. An ergonomic chair is used which can be adjusted for each person allowing the client total comfort. The nice thing about chair massage is that the client can stay clothed and their appearance is not disturbed. This is a great way to introduce people to massage. A routine chair massage is usually 10-20 minutes long using Shiatsu compression techniques. During the massage a client can totally relax while their neck, shoulder, back and arm muscles are relieved of tension. Afterward they feel refreshed, rejuvenated and alert.
